This position will be filled at the Communications and Instrumentation Mechanic level. At the full performance level, the incumbent serves as a Communications and Instrumentation Mechanic Resident. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the Resident level of the position upon meeting all regulatory requirements; certification by the supervisor of successful performance; completion of all training requirements; and the availability of work at the next higher level. Promotion is not automatic. -Installs, maintains, tests, calibrates, aligns, modifies, overhauls, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, such as fixed and mobile voice and data communication equipment, surveillance equipment, generators, power transformers, power circuit breakers, current transformers, electronic voltage regulation, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system equipment, power system stabilizers, data logging and control equipment, sound systems, telemetering, flow metering, protective relaying, electronic relays, revenue metering, and sophisticated panel board indicating meters and recorders, fiber optic cabling, high speed data cable, and uninterruptible power systems.-Performs microprocessor based programming; i.e. solid state devices, sonic liquid level devices. Uses various analog and digital test equipment such as ohmmeters, ammeters, voltmeters, watt meter, transistor testers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency meters, logic analyzers, communications test sets, spectrum analyzers, time domain reflectometers, high speed communications test equipment, PC based test equipment.-Installs and maintains a variety of radio communications equipment. This includes VHF and UHF Base Stations, mobile radios, microwave radio equipment, radio towers, antenna systems, and telephone equipment. Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered basically qualified for this position.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
